The broken window was at the local shopping centre, but it was the tape that someone had slashed across it that I wanted to paint. Then there was a long pause while I decided what was both in front of and behind the window.
The structure of the wall, pony and stalls was established quite early but it was only when I had erased all the toys and awnings which I had laboriously painted in round the laughing clowns that I felt it started to work. Then I found the child at the Murray Bridge Show, my husband posed for the shadow, and I was able to finish it.
** There are more notes on the laughing clowns on the 'Compare Laughing Clowns' Page.
