Shorn Sheep No 2
56 x 66cms 2005
On my way to Mannum for the mail I passed a paddockful of shorn sheep. I had to photograph them from the car, having learnt from past experience that if you get out they all turn their backs and stroll away, and the windows weren't very clean, but this sheep, right up against the fence, captured exactly that remote dignity which sheep display when they're not swaddled up with wool.
There was supposed to be a big tangle of wire in front of the image but, having coloured everything in, it was irrelevant.
