Urban Street

I was sitting on a bench in Rundle Mall, watching people, at the same time as the first Gulf War was breaking out. I spent months researching and painting the figures and got a lot freer with the paint, attempting to create a progression from darkness and movement to nothing.
Many years later, a gallery asked me to rework the background for a client, for which I
photographed the great slabs of blank concrete of a half-built shopping mall.
