Truck Approaching a Bridge

This painting has a truck I had used before in Truck No 3. The bridge is on the freeway to Adelaide and I had got the composition of it stuck in my head until I used it in this piece.

But, sometimes a painting gets halfway through and then gets completely stuck. It just drops dead. When it gets to the stage that I'm about to rip it off the stretchers (having probably already spent a month or so working on it) I generally think, what the hell, it's not working, have some fun with it, so I did. Hence the rather excessive sky, the pelicans and the cherub. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
